MMUST ICT Implements Sajili Attendance System in Partnership with Konza
As part of its commitment to digital transformation and efficient service delivery, the Directorate of ICT Services at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) has successfully implemented the Sajili Digital Attendance Management System. This milestone was achieved through a close collaboration with one of its strategic partners — Konza Technopolis.
Sajili, developed under the Konza Smart Government initiative, is a modern tool designed to replace traditional manual registers with a secure, accurate, and tamper-proof digital attendance system. It enables real-time registration of participants through biometric thumb signatures or device-based logging, ensuring seamless tracking of attendance during official university meetings, trainings, and workshops.
The implementation of Sajili at MMUST marks a major step in enhancing operational transparency, accountability, and efficiency. With features such as venue creation, meeting scheduling, live attendance capture, and automated reporting dashboards, Sajili empowers university departments to manage participation records digitally—minimizing paperwork and enabling better planning and reporting.
By working closely with Konza Technopolis, MMUST becomes one of the leading public universities in Kenya to adopt smart attendance solutions that align with national goals on e-governance.
MMUST’s adoption of Sajili aligns with its broader strategic goal to become a digitally driven institution. By incorporating Sajili into its core systems, the university is demonstrating that digital transformation is not an abstract concept—it is a practical and necessary approach to institutional development.
The system has already been used in high-level management meetings, academic board sessions, and internal trainings, with overwhelmingly positive feedback. Staff now spend less time chasing after paper records and more time analyzing real-time attendance data to inform planning and performance
